The
Equality and Diversity Forum
The Equality and Diversity Forum was set up in July 2005
to be a partnership between the Council and the community and to
enable residents of Bromsgrove to have a voice in the making
of Council decisions and the way services are designed.
Over these seven years the successes of the Forum
include
- supporting the setting up a Hate Crime Partnership in
Bromsgrove (now jointly with the Borough of Redditch)
- setting up a Disabled Users Group who were involved in the
design and establishement a community transport system
- requested and helped design a Tactile Map and Braille Shopping
Guide for Bromsgrove Town Centre
- requested and helped design the refurbishment of the Town
Centre toilet block which includes a Changing
Place toilet
- engaging with the Bromsgrove Disabled Access Group and helping
toset up the Bromsgrove No Barriers Disabled Access Awards
The Forum has also been involved in
various community celebratory events such as
- Black History Month programme of events and activities
- Annual celebration of Diwali
- LGB&T History Month
- International Women's Day
- International Older People's Day
- Celebration of Eid as part of Inter Faith Week
The community partners in the Forum have had a say on
future budget planning and there is an ongoing dialogue on the
Town Centre Regeneration programme.
The Forum have been involved in decisions on
community bids since 2008. Further details wil be available here on
the community projects undertaken by the successful bidder in the
near future.

We carry out an annual Customer Satisfaction Survey with members
of the Equality and Diversity Forum. The
results of the 2009 survey can be downloaded
here and
the 2010 survey here . The survey for 2011 has been deferred to Autumn
2012.
Forum meetings are now held on a quarterly basis and
the programme of
meetings for 2012 can be downloaded here. The next meeting is
at 6.15 pm on Thursday 28th June at the Council House,
Burcot Lane in the Committee Room. The Agenda for
that meeting will be available here on 14th June. Light
refreshments are available from 5.30 onwards. Anyone is welcome to
attend even if you have not been to one of our meetings before. If
you have any access needs it would be helpful if you could let us
know beforehand. You can download

In September 2011, the Forum agreed to adopt revised
Terms
of Reference and Protocols which can be downloaded
here.
