Benefit Fraud
It is estimated that every year Benefit Cheats cost the country
around £0.9 billion in stolen benefits. This is money that could be
spent on improving services for people in real need and it's your
taxes that are paying for their luxuries. Benefit fraudsters cost
the Council money each year in fraudulently claimed Housing and
Council Tax Benefit.
The Benefit Fraud Investigation Team perform anti-fraud activity
in relation to Housing and Council Tax Benefit. We are committed to
preventing, detecting and putting an end to Housing Benefit and
Council Tax Benefit fraud.
Benefit fraud is not a victimless crime and it affects all of
us.
