What do I need to do about my benefit if my
circumstances change?
You must tell us straightaway about any change in the
circumstances of other adults living in the
property. Below are some examples of changes affecting
the other adults in the property (excluding your partner) that you
need to tell us about:-
- Changes in the number of other adults living with you.
- Change in income / capital of other adults living with
you.
- Changes in the personal circumstances of other adults
living in the property
- If the other adult(s) starts to receive other Benefits.
- If the other adult(s) stops receiving other Benefits.
- If your dependant children who live with you / students in the
household leave full time education.
You must give us full details about the change in your
circumstances including the date the change occurred and provide
proof of the change.
It is important that you tell us about any changes as soon as
possible so that we do not pay you too much benefit. If you do get
too much benefit (an overpayment) we will ask you to pay the money
back. If you want more information about overpayments please see
the sections regarding overpayments.
Please note, if you are in receipt of Main Scheme Council Tax
Benefit or Housing Benefit, you need to notify us about all changes
to you and your partners income, capital and circumstances, as well
as those relating to other people that live with you. Please
