Headstones and Memorials

Bromsgrove Cemeteries are able to accept a wide variety of memorials and headstones, regulations regarding size and fittings can be found on the 9th page of the Memorial Registration Scheme and Permits document.PDF Acrobat File

Memorials in the lawned sections can be erected as soon after the interment as required.  Memorials in the older, curbed style sections must not be erected for at least 6 months after interment.   All memorials must be fitted by memorial masons registered on our Memorial Mason Registration Scheme and a memorial application form must be completed and permit received before the memorial is erected.

In order to comply with Health and Safety regulations, there are occasions when memorial safety inspections must be carried out in the Cemetery.  Notification will be placed in local press and around the Cemetery before this work is carried out.  Every attempt will be made to contact relevant parties should a memorial be found to be unsafe.

In order to maintain the appearance of the cemetery, it is requested that flowers are only placed on the memorial or foundation slab.  Vases and ornaments placed on the grass around graves are likely to be damaged by mowers.  This can also lead to injury from broken glass etc to staff and visitors.
