Support for local business
Bromsgrove District Council is promoting its range of
business support initiatives in the wake of the successful ‘Fit for
Biz’ event last Thursday (October 1).
At the event, which was carried out in
partnership with commercial organisations as part of the Council’s
activities to help counter the recession, business-people were able
to obtain free advice on a range of topics including business rate
relief, cash flow, procurement, insurance, PR and utilities.
Elsewhere the Council has increased its
Business Start-up and Business Booster programmes and is also
expecting a large turnout at its annual New Business Showcase event
in the Council Chamber at The Council House, Burcot Lane,
Bromsgrove on October 22. Following that there is a special
presentation on how to bid for public sector contracts at the
Spadesbourne Suite, also at The Council House, on November 25.
Bromsgrove District Council portfolio holder
for Economic Development Cllr. James Duddy who was present at the
Fit for Biz event said: “Bromsgrove District Council has always
been committed to helping local business and these efforts have
been intensified during the current economic crisis.”
Economic Development and Town Centre Manager
Peter Michael added: “I am always keen to hear from businesses in
the District to see how our plans can be best geared to help them,
and I look forward to meeting local business-people at the
forthcoming events.”
