In case of bad weather, stay informed
Bromsgrove District Council has put measures
in place to make sure residents are informed about its service
updates during bad weather.
As the winter weather worsens the District
Council is urging residents to follow it on Facebook, Twitter, its
website and via local news sources to keep abreast of the latest
news.
Last year staff kept residents up to date on
bin collections and gritting via all these methods of
communication, which saw calls to the customer service centres
decrease and led to compliments from users of both of the social
networking websites.
Head of Environmental Services Guy Revans
said: “If we have a similar amount of snow as we did last year,
then having our waste vehicles out on the roads is often unsafe for
both our staff and our residents.
“If we can’t collect bins due to bad weather,
we would ask residents to keep their bins out in a safe location
because we will get around to collecting them. If our staff are
unable to collect waste and recycling, then like last year we will
be helping to clear the snow and grit where we can.”
Bromsgrove District Council has a Facebook
page, its Twitter account is @BromsgroveDC and http://www.bromsgrove.gov.uk/
is updated regularly.
Information on how to stay safe in the snow is
also available on the website.
