Keeping evenings out fun this Christmas
Revellers in Bromsgrove are set for a
boost over the festive period and beyond as local pubs reinforce
their Bromsgrove Against Night time Disorder (BAND) scheme.
From Monday (December 19) Pubwatch premises in
the town started highlighting the BAND scheme, which means when a
person is banned from one licensed premises they are automatically
banned from all licensed premises in the district. BAND posters
have been clearly displayed in pubs throughout the town.
The Bromsgrove Community Safety Partnership
supports and has helped fund the scheme to help tackle and reduce
the risk of alcohol-related crime, violence, disorder and
anti-social behaviour in Bromsgrove town centre. The scheme
includes training licensees on how to use radios linked to other
licensed premises, radios which are also monitored by Bromsgrove
District Council’s CCTV Control Room, to help keep any trouble at
bay.
Angela Heighway, Chair of Bromsgrove
Community Safety Partnership, said: “One of our priorities
is to promote safety at night in Bromsgrove, and the Pubwatch
members are a vital part of that. In reality, Police data shows
Bromsgrove to be one of the safest night time economies in the
county and we’re taking action to keep it that way. Together
we’re sending out a clear message this Christmas. Don’t ruin the
evening. Banned from one, banned from all.”
