Bromsgrove celebrates Inter Faith Week
2011
People of all faiths and none are being
invited to a free day of fun on Saturday (19 November) as
Bromsgrove District marks national Inter Faith Week for the second
year.
Different local faith groups are set to attend
the public ‘Celebrate Eid in Bromsgrove’ event in the Spadesbourne
Suite, Burcot Lane on Saturday from 11.30am to 6pm, organized by
the Bromsgrove Muslim Community Trust in partnership with
Bromsgrove District Council
With free displays, exhibitions, hot food from
around the world, henna art, face painting and children’s
entertainment the range of activities throughout the day promises
something for everyone.
Bromsgrove District Council’s p ortfolio
holder for Legal, Equalities and Democratic Services Cllr Mark
Bullivant said: “After the success of last year’s first-time event
we’ve extended the opening hours this year and it promises to be as
good if not better. I am delighted that we can support community
events like this that bring people together to learn more about
each other, because we’re all part of one wider community. This is
an event for everyone.”
National Inter Faith Week this year runs from
Sunday 20 to Saturday 26 November. It aims to highlight events
around the UK to strengthen relations between people of different
faiths, increase awareness of distinct faith communities and
improve understanding between people of religious and non-religious
belief.
