Charity concert to raise funds to the sound of music
Seasons of Love, an award-winning youth choir from the West
Midlands, will be bringing the magic of the musicals to Bromsgrove
Council House on 14 September, all in aid of charity.
The concert, called Magic of the Musicals, has been organised by
the Civic Head of Bromsgrove District Council, Councillor Janice
Boswell, to raise money for her nominated charities. These are
Primrose Hospice, Edward’s Trust and The Stroke Association.
Seasons of Love is comprised of a talented group of youngsters
who recently took first place in the Dudley Music Festival and
earned themselves the title of Regional Youth Choir Champions. The
choir was formed in 2009 and is made up of mixed voices aged 12 –
21, directed by Deborah Watson. Its members have performed in a
long list of concerts around the West Midlands and frequently
participate in concerts to raise money for charity.
During the evening, the choir will perform a variety of
well-known songs, solos and duets from popular musicals and wow the
audience with their spellbinding live sound.
Cllr Janice Boswell said: “Each of my chosen
charities has a special personal significance to me and I am keen
to work hard to raise vital funds for them during my year as Civic
Head. The concert will be a fantastic evening and I’m sure the
Seasons of Love choir will raise the roof of the Council House with
their extraordinary singing.”
Tickets cost £10 and will be sold on a first come, first served
basis. Arrival for the concert at Bromsgrove Council House is 7pm
for a 7.30pm start and bar facilities will be available.
