NEW Lifeline Charges

 

1. NEW Lifeline Charges

Customers are invoiced quarterly, in advance, by the Finance Team at Bromsgrove District Council. 

  • Installation Fee - a one-off charge of £19.76
  • Weekly Charge of £2.86 + VAT

Please note all charges are subject to annual review in April.

 

2. Exemption from VAT

  • VAT is charged at 20%, however, under the VAT Act 1983 Goods & Services for Disabled Persons, you may be eligible for VAT exemption.  The guidelines published by HM Customs & Excise state that if blind, deaf or dumb; substantially and permanently handicapped by illness, injury or congenital deformity or by virtue of general frailty, most elderly people are entitled to VAT exemption.  In order to claim it will be necessary for you to sign a declaration form which will be provided when our Telecare Installation Officer visits you in your home.  A declaration form can also be requested by telephoning 01527 534060 or by downloading the form shown below in Supporting Documents.  It should then be completed, signed and returned to NEW Lifeline at Redditch Borough Council, Town Hall, Walter Stranz Square, Redditch, B98 8AH.

 

3. Methods of Payment

  • Cash or Cheque

You can pay by cash or cheque by detaching and taking your payment slip together with your payment to the Customer Service Centre, Bromsgrove District Council, School Drive, Bromsgrove, B60 1AY.  Cheques or postal orders should be made payable to Bromsgrove District Council'.

The Cusotmer Service Centre opening hours are:

  • Monday to Wednesday  9.00am to 5.00pm
  • Thursday                     10.00am to 5.00pm
  • Friday                           9.00am to 5.00pm
  • Saturday                       9.00am to 12.00noon

 

  •  Post

Detach the payment slip and send together with your cheque or postal order to PO Box 7760, Bromsgrove, B60 1YW.    Cheques or postal orders should be made payable to Bromsgrove District Council'.

  •  Telephone Payments

Payments can be taken over the telephone from your debit or credit card by calling and speaking to a member of staff on 01527 881288 or 01527 881215.  Alternatively, you can make a payment on our automated payment line 24 hours a day by calling 01527 881474.

  •  Internet Payments

You can pay online using your debit or credit card by going to https://www.bromsgrove.gov.uk and following the links to 'Pay For It'.

  •  Direct Debit

To pay by Direct Debit a mandate can be requested by calling the Exchequer Team on 01527 881215 or 881216.  Once completed the Direct Debit mandate should be returned to:

The Exchequer Team, Bromsgrove District Council, The Council House, Burcot Lane, Bromsgrove, B60 1AA.

The completed mandate will then be forwarded to your bank or building society.  If at any point it is required to adjust your Direct Debit payment notification will be given in writing and the neccessary adjustments will be made.
