Longbridge Area Action Plan Submission
The Longbridge Area Action Plan (Submission Document) sets out
the land use framework and proposals for the regeneration of the
former MG Rover plant site at Longbridge.
The Area Action Plan’s final proposals include plans for 10,000
jobs, over 1,450 new homes, built to high environmental standards,
a new local centre to provide a wide range of retail, leisure,
commercial and community facilities and a series of public
transport and highway improvements. The overall aim of the
plan is to create a truly sustainable and well designed
community.

Examination in Public
The Planning Inspectorate has appointed a Planning Inspector
(Jill Kingaby) to undertake an examination into the soundness of
the Longbridge Area Action Plan. The Inspector is assisted by
a dedicated Program Officer (Lorraine Oliver) who is an impartial
officer of the Examination and works under the direction of the

Examination
The oral Examination into the Councils' submitted Area Action
Plan (AAP) will be
held at The Examination which will take place at the
Innovation Centre, 1 Devon Way, Longbridge Technology Park,
Birmingham B31 2TS.
It will open at 10am on Tuesday 14 October
2008.
The revised program for all attendees of the public examination
will commence at 10am on Thursday 4th
December 2008

Pre-Examination Meeting
The Pre-Examination Meeting (PEM) was advertised and took
place on Tuesday 5 August 2008 at the Hollymoor Centre, Manor Park
Grove in Northfield, 2-3pm. It provided an opportunity for
administrative matters relating to the
AAP
Examination to be explained and
discussed and was open to all those who made representations on the
Submission Document, as well as statutory consultees.
Examination Library
A dedicated library has been established for the examination and
is available by clicking here. This library contains all the key
examination documents and is updated frequently. Documents
within the library are also available to review at the Program

Library
Submission to Secretary of State
Following two years of intensive work by Birmingham City and
Bromsgrove District Councils, landowners, interested groups, local
organisations and the general public the plan was submitted to the
Secretary of State on 28 March 2008. This date also marked
the start of a six week statutory consultation period, which ended
on 9th May 2008. A copy of the Longbridge Area
Action Plan Submission Document is available below together with a
summary table of supporting submission documents. Please

Representations Received on Submission Document
During the consultation period on the Area Action Plan, 113
representations were duly made from 34 parties / respondents.
As required under the relevant regulations, these
representations were made available to view at Council Offices /
local libraries and on-line via Birmingham, Bromsgrove and Future 4
Longbridge websites. Information on these representations is
covered in the Regulation 31 Statement and supporting appendices
detailed below.

Site Allocation Representations
Of the 113 representations made on the Area Action Plan on
submission, 12 'Site Allocation Representations' were identified.
These representations proposed changes to proposed site
allocations identified in the Area Action Plan. In compliance
with the relevant regulation, consultation on the 12 Site
Allocation Representations lasted 6 weeks, from 19th May
through to 30th June 2008. A 'Statement of
Matters' and a full set of the representations were made available
at nominated public offices and libraries The representations were
also made available online.
This stage of consultation is covered by the Regulation 32
Statement detailed below with supporting appendices.
