Books on Prescription Scheme

The Books on Prescription Scheme is a very effective way of helping people with common mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, phobias and eating disorders.

There is first class clinical evidence to show that books can be just as effective as other forms of therapy, with the advantage of having no side effects.

Worcestershire County Council Libraries and Learning Service is working in partnership with Worcestershire NHS, to provide quality self-help information to enable you to manage your health through reading.  A prescription for a recommended book is issued by your doctor or other health professional, and can be exchanged for the book at your local Worcestershire library*, free of charge.  *Subject to your local library offering the service.
