The Positive Mental Health Project Group
The Bromsgrove Partnership's Health and Well Being
Local Strategic Partnership Theme Group has set up a project group
to focus on positive mental health.
Mental health problems are common. In any one
year 1 in 4 British adults experience at least one diagnosable
mental health problem. There are many support services and self
help opportunities for those who feel that they are suffering
mental health issues, such as stress, anxiety and depression and
the focus of the Positive Mental Health Project
Group is to raise awareness of the services available to
help.
The Positive Mental Health Project
Group includes members from the Council, PCT, Wellness
Works and BDHT. The first meeting was held on the 4th
March 2010 when the Group discussed the key issues such as the
extent of mental health problems, opportunities to work with
employers and the possibility of holding an event to promote
positive mental health.
Following that meeting officers have started
to develop a plan to promote Positive Mental Health to employers,
officers and residents of the District. The plan is just starting
to take shape and involves working with partners to promote a range
of support and self help opportunities. The Positive Mental
Health Action Plan will be posted on this website once it has been
approved by the Health and Well Being Group.
