1. BDC Low Cost Housing
Scheme
The BDC scheme is an equity share scheme set
up during 1989-1992 when the Council built 222 Low Cost Homes at
various sites around the district.
They were sold at 70% market value with the
Council retaining a 30% share which could be purchased at some
point in the future. When an owner wishes to sell the property they
have to be offered back to the Council in order that they can be
advertised on the Home Choice Plus web site. Anyone registered on
the Home Choice Plus register can bid for the property and if
suitable can be nominated to purchase the property. This is
the only way one of these properties become available and as many
people have bought the remaining 30% share the numbers are
dwindling. It is an excellent scheme as no interest or rent is paid
on the Councils 30% and you do not have to purchase the 30% share
as you do with some schemes. For further information please

Home Choice Plus
2. Orbit First Step
Homebuy
Orbit are the housing association nominated by
the government to run the government HomeBuy
scheme. These are new build schemes offering
properties for part rent/part buy. For further information please

3. Housing Association shared
ownership and shared equity shares.
There are a number of housing associations
that operate in Bromsgrove District that have shared ownership
properties available on a resale basis. Some of these are listed
