Bromsgrove District Council recognises that many residents may
be experiencing difficulties with finances and associated hardship
due to the current economic downturn. There are a number of
services available both locally and nationally that may be able to
help,
The sooner you take action, the more likely it is that
you can stay in your home.
The following agencies may be of assistance to you:
Citizens Advice Bureau -
For debt and consumer issues, benefits, housing, legal matters,
employment and immigration. Advisers can give information and
assistance on all subjects and negotiate when needed. If
facing re-possession they can assist you with legal procedures.
DirectGov - For a reliable
information and advice on keeping your home, benefits and other
entitlements.
National Debt Line -
Free, professional independent money advice. Self help
solutions and debt management plans available by phone and
e-mail.
Housing
Advice - For help with private renting, mediation
services, landlord negotiations, social housing, general housing
advice and advice and assistance to people who may be threatened
with homelessness.
Relate - For
information on counselling services
Bromsgrove District Council have also developed a self help pack
called "Mortgage Wise" which includes information that will enable
homeowners to prioritise debts and learn about what services and
