Online Payments
You can use our Online Payments system to pay your Council Tax,
Business Rates (NNDR), Sundry Invoices, Excess Charge Notices
(Parking Fines) Garden Waste collection and Housing Benefit
Overpayments.
Note: Please be sure when entering your
"ECN" code that
you include the full code with no spaces between the letters and
numbers e.g. ECN 01234 should be entered as
ECN01234.
Use our Online Payment service
Our online payments service allows you to use your credit/debit
card (please see below for supported cards) to make a payment
online using our secure online payments server.
Note: Payments cannot be made between 23:40pm
and midnight due to server maintenance.

What is an Internet Payment?
Internet payments allow you to pay Council issued bills, for
example Council Tax, Business Rates, Benefit Overpayments, Excess
Charge Notices (Parking Fines), Garden Waste collection and Sundry
Invoices.
You will be requested to enter account and payment details. Once
entered the data will be validated, and the payment authorised with
the bank.
Once your payment has been accepted a unique transaction
reference will be allocated and displayed back to you to enable a
receipt to be printed.
Supported Browsers
The following web browsers are supported with the online
payments: Internet Explorer 5. and above. Please note that
Javascript must be enabled in your browser to make use of online
payments. We are looking to add support for further browsers in the
future.
What services can I pay for?
You can now pay your Council Tax, Housing Benefits Overpayments,
Business Rates, Excess Charge Notices (Parking Fines) Garden Waste
collection and Sundry Invoices (where you have an invoice
number) over the Internet using any of the debit card types listed
below.

What is an Automated Telephone Payment (
ATP
)
ATP allows you to pay Council issued bills, for Council Tax,
NNDR, Benefit
Overpayments, Excess Charge Notices (Parking Fines), Garden
Waste and Sundry Invoices., via a telephone and an automated
menu.
You will be requested to enter your bank account and payment
details. Once the data is entered and validated, the payment will
be authorised with the bank.
Once your payment has been accepted a unique transaction
reference will be allocated, the system will notify you of this
number.
What payment cards can I use?
The Council currently only accept payments over the Internet
using any of the following debit cards:
Mastercard, Visa, Switch, Solo, Delta. Visa Electron and
Maestro

How will I know if my payment has been
successful?
When you have finished entering your card details, and confirm
you want to continue with the payment, there will be a short delay
while your card details are validated. If your payment is
successful, a receipt will be displayed which contains a
transaction reference number. Please make a note of this number in
case you need to contact us about your payment.
If an error occurs, your payment will not be processed, and a
message explaining why it has failed will be displayed.
Process Time
Once your payment card details have been submitted to us and
your payment card company have approved the payment, the payment
will be processed within 3 working days
Security Information
How We Protect Your Information
Internet Explorer 5.5 (or higher) supports Secure Socket Layer
(SSL) technology,
which is an industry standard for internet payments. This means all
of your personal and card details are protected using 128 bit
encryption when your details are transmitted over the Internet.
This makes it virtually impossible for anyone else to discover and
use your details.
Check You Are Using A Secure Site
Check your browser encryption strength by using your mouse to
hover over a padlock icon in the bottom right hand corner of your
browser window (it should be a closed padlock). When you do this,
it should tell you that it is SSL Secured 128 bit.
Also traditional website addresses begin "http" - the address
for a secure site will always begin with "https" and the padlock
icon located in the bottom right of your browser status bar
indicates that the page being displayed is using a secure
connection.
To check that you are using the official Bromsgrove District
Council Online Payments web site, you can check the address box at
the top of your screen which should only display:
