Garden Waste

Garden waste service

Cut down your tip runs by signing up to our garden waste service!  Our brown bin service runs for nine months of the year.

Great for:

  1. Grass cuttings
  2. Branches (up to 4'' diameter)
  3. Clippings and leaves
  4. Weeds, plants and flowers

Can’t be used for:

  1. Kitchen waste, vegetables and fruit - consider composting, otherwise these go in your black waste bin.
  2. Any plastic, including bags and bin liners - these usually go in your black waste bin.
  3. Turf, soil, rubble, concrete or stones - you can take these to your local household recycling centre, or try our bulky waste collection service.
  4. Animal waste and bedding - consider composting, otherwise these also go in your black waste bin.

Things to consider

Here's a handy leaflet about the service.

The fee is annual and it is a flat fee. Part payments or concessions are not available. Refunds are only available before your first collection is made.

You can order as many bins as you like for the current fee of £42 per bin.  Brown bins are one size, the standard 240 litres.

Bin liners cannot be used in your brown bin because they can spoil efforts to compost the waste. Our natural composting process takes 14 weeks for the organic matter to rot down and many bin liners take longer than this, so we ask that bin liners are not used.
