Bromsgrove High Street

A new gate, which will control how many delivery vehicles access Bromsgrove’s High Street, is in operation.

The gate, which is located by Poundland, was installed as part of the High Street Regeneration project which finished last year.

It will help to enforce the Traffic Regulation Order which stops unauthorised vehicles entering the High Street, help maintain the new surface and reduce noise for those people living in this area.

Monitored by the CCTV control room, only authorised vehicles will be granted access.

Businesses can be placed on the list for approved vehicular access or can arrange a one-off visit.

Bromsgrove District Council’s Portfolio-holder for the Town Centre, Rita Dent, said:“While we recognise that traders and local businesses need to receive deliveries, we want the people who visit our town centre to feel safe as they wander down our pedestrianized High Street.

“The traffic regulation order, coupled with the gate, means our wonderful new-look High Street can be enjoyed by everyone.”
