Parents can give their children some early help in preparation for nursery or school with new transition sessions.

Early Help will be providing transition sessions over the summer holidays for families with children aged between two and five years which focus on preparing the child for nursery or school.

The aim of the sessions is to prepare both parents, guardians and children for this important life experience with a positive and encouraging approach. Tips, information, children’s activities and reassurances will be available throughout the sessions from experienced staff.

Liz Griffiths, Operational Manager (Early Start and Parenting), said: “The move to nursery or ‘big school’ is an exciting and important time for children and parents. Transitions are a part of growing up and can feel as daunting for parents as for their child. Whilst it can be an exciting time it can also be a cause for apprehension. Working together with a positive approach will help children become confident and thrive and adapt to this new challenge. It is the end of an era but the beginning of another.”

Sessions will be available across the town’s Early Help Centres; Sunny Fields, Pear Tree, Tulip Tree.

Register interest before 31st July to ensure sessions are running. To book a place or for more information please pop in or call your local Early Help centre.
