Bromsgrove shoppers are being urged to pick up a treat or two from their market as it takes part in a national campaign.

As part of Love Your Local Market 2015’ campaign Bromsgrove District Council is encouraging residents and visitors to browse the stalls along the newly refurbished High Street and see what’s on offer.

More then 900 markets across the country are taking part in the campaign which is run by the National Association of British Market Authorities.

It started in 2012 in a bid to raise the profile of the local market and the importance it plays in the heart of our communities.

The Council’s outdoor market is run by North Worcestershire Economic Development and Regeneration.

NWedR’s Head of Economic Development and Regeneration, Dean Piper, said: “Our markets are a place where people gather and so play an important part in our community.

“And I hope as many people as possible pay the market a visit to see what a valuable retail opportunity there is – or even consider becoming a stall-holder themselves.”

Graham Wilson OBE, Chief Executive of the National Association of British Market Authorities said: “Love Your Local Market is the biggest market event in a generation.

“It gives people the chance of a new career and demonstrates how important the market is to the local community’.
