Daring youngsters can brave a new play area in Hagley which boasts a double 30m zip wire and tripod tyre swing.

The 'risky play' area, due to open on Monday, was funded by Bromsgrove District Council, using money from planning developments, to the tune of £80,000. This was topped up with funds totalling just under £5,000 from Hagley Parish Council.

As well as the adventurous new equipment a new concrete skate park has been installed at the facility, on Hagley playing fields, off Worcester Road. Local pupils, parents and councillors have all been involved in the creating the scheme.

District Councillor Rod Laight, whose Portfolio covers leisure, said: “We are very proud of our play areas in Bromsgrove and this latest improvement is a brilliant start to the Summer holidays. I am sure this exciting equipment will be enjoyed by everyone from across the District.”
