Car Park Sign

Bromsgrove residents and traders are to be asked how they feel the year-long trial of free evening car parking in the town has gone so far.

Councillors on the Evening Car Parking Task Group, set up by Bromsgrove District Council’s Overview & Scrutiny Board, are set to ask the public for their views as part of their work scrutinising the impact of the 12-month trial, which the district council began in February.

The group will now start evaluating the trial by interviewing relevant officers, studying the data, and issuing a questionnaire to gather people’s views before making recommendations for the council’s Cabinet to consider around February 2016.

Leader of the task group and Perryfield Ward Councillor Karen May said: “We’ll be looking at the effects of the free parking trial in Bromsgrove, in terms of what has been successful and what might need improvement. I’d like to encourage anyone that wants to have a say to get in touch.”
