Recycling Ready Slider

Bromsgrove residents are being urged to make sure their Christmas Trees are not the only flash of green in their homes this year as a second tranche of videos are launched.

The next series of Recycling Ready? short films are being circulated via Bromsgrove District Council’s social media and cover a range of topics to get residents thinking.

From which types of wrapping paper to recycle and top tips on reducing food waste, the campaign, which follows the success of Recycling Ready? videos last year Summer, aims to create a greener Christmas for the district.

Cllr Roger Smith, Portfolio-holder for Environmental Services, said: “Although our recycling rates are increasing all the time, it can be confusing on what types of things can be recycled – especially at Christmas which sees a deluge of gift tags, ribbon and tinsel.

“These videos are a fun way to get the recycling message across. If we can get people to think twice about what they can recycle, or even about how much food they are buying, then it’s a Happy Christmas for the environment too.”

The latest round of videos, which have been made by the council and shared with neighbouring authorities for them to use, are on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube under the hashtag #RecyclingReady - and they're embedded on this web page too.
