Fresh Italian produce will be on offer this weekend at the latest specialist market in Bromsgrove’s recently-refurbished marketplace.

The Italia in Piazza market is coming to the Strand end of the High Street market from 9am on Friday and Saturday.

Bromsgrove District Council Leader Margaret Sherrey said: “We’re excited for this new specialist market, and we hope to have more in the future too. Bromsgrove is really starting to see the benefit to trade of all the good work that’s gone into economic development and regeneration recently.”

Italia in Piazza claim to be the only market of their kind in the country, bringing what they call ‘real Italian food, made in Italy, right to your neighbourhoods.’ All their stall holders are Italian.

Giacomo, from the Italia in Piazza panini stall, said: "Wherever I go and every visit my customers return to buy my sausages & arancini. In Bromsgrove I will also have pizzas and calzones with different filings, such as meatballs!"

Lorenzo, from the cheese stall, added: "I love sharing my passion of Italian cheeses with my customers and look forward to in Bromsgrove. I always bring new and exciting cheeses as well as the popular ones and am happy to suggest recipes that would go well with my products".

Bromsgrove’s historic market, which dates back to 1200, was restored to the heart of the refurbished High Street as part of town centre regeneration works that continue to upgrade many parts of the town. It takes place every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday along the High Street and is run for Bromsgrove District Council by CJ’s Events.
