Market Flowers

A brand new youth market offering a variety of goods and services will be coming to Bromsgrove High Street next weekend.

On Saturday 25th March from 9.30am until 4pm, Bromsgrove High Street will see numerous unique businesses selling their wares – and the majority of these entrepreneurial business owners are aged between 15 and 17.

Stalls will be run by young people from across North Worcestershire providing the young people with the opportunity to sell their goods and services to the public.

Among the unique items on offer will be handmade wooden items, – including wine racks and plaques – mugs designed to appeal to young people and crafted candles from businesses such as Home Scent.  Many of the items will also have a Mother’s Day (26th March) or Easter theme.

Cllr Karen May, whose portfolio covers economic development, said: “We’re very excited at the prospect of the Youth Market coming to the High Street next weekend. It is great that the young entrepreneurs of the future will get this opportunity to sell their wares and show off the hard work that has gone into creating their businesses. Please stop by and support them as you do your shopping in Bromsgrove.”

The Youth Market is the result of a partnership between Bromsgrove District Council and Young Enterprise.

Many of the traders are taking part in Young Enterprise’s ‘Company Programme’ which enables young people to set up their own businesses. The programme teaches a variety of skills including communications, customer service, costing and finance, teamwork, problem solving and working to tight deadlines.
