Bromsgrove Extra Leaflet Slider

A leaflet promoting some services residents might not know they can get from the district council has been included in this year’s Council Tax bill.

The ‘Bromsgrove Extra’ leaflet includes important information about this year’s Council Tax and a catalogue of council services that residents can choose to pay for rather than them be paid for through the Council Tax.

It includes services like garden waste and bulky waste collections and lifeline, as well as less well-known services like MOT testing, septic tanks and cesspools, park hire and more.

The leaflet is designed to ensure residents are informed about these local services, which they might find useful and which provide income to the council to help sustain local services.

Cllr Geoff Denaro, Leader of Bromsgrove District Council, said: “Our services are local, flexible, and they benefit the community, so we want to make sure people know what paid services the council offers.

“It’s part and parcel of our work to make the council more sustainable. Bromsgrove District Council will shortly have no financial support from the Government at all. That makes any extra income to the council even more important as it all supports the range of valued services that we provide across our communities. More promotion of our paid-for services is just one of several irons we have in this fire.”

As well as promotions, the Bromsgrove Extra residents will receive includes important financial information from Worcestershire County Council.

An alternate version of the leaflet has also been included in Business Rates bills, advertising the district council’s range of business-focused services.

Bromsgrove District Council will charge £210.24 for its part of the Council Tax on a Band D property this year, an increase of £5 (2.44%).
