Warmer Winter

***The next Winter Warmer session is on January 17 - see below ***

A new series of drop-in winter advice events for keeping warm and saving money starts in Bromsgrove District next week.

Residents will be able to get a range of ‘Warmer Winter’ heating and energy advice at Bromsgrove Library, as Bromsgrove District Council once again brings partners together in one place.

Advice on energy bills, how to access loft and cavity insulation grant funding, and replacing old, inefficient boilers will be available from Act on Energy.  Age UK will cover home energy checks and other advice, and there will be staff from the NEW Lifeline community alarm service that provides peace of mind to vulnerable people and their families.

Herefordshire and Worcestershire Fire and Rescue Service will be in attendance for home fire safety advice and Care and Repair Worcestershire will be also be there for advice on how to get help with essential home repairs.

Cllr Kit Taylor, whose portfolio covers housing, said: “We’re pleased to host another round of the popular ‘warmer winter’ events. There is a wealth of help and advice on offer not just to reduce the cost of heating your home, but also on ways for you to keep that heat in and stay warm once you’ve paid for it.”

The first Warmer Winter event is on Wednesday December 13 from 9.30am until 1.00pm at the library, followed by events on January 17, February 14, and March 14.

If you want help at the events to switch energy suppliers and save money, please make sure to bring along an energy bill along.

If you can’t make the events but want energy saving advice, please contact Act on Energy on 0800 988 2881 or advice@actonenergy.co.uk. Here's general information about the events.
