B18039 Mercian Regiment Band Lined Up In Bumper Bandstand July Web

A bumper July for Bromsgrove’s ‘Bandstand Music in the Park’ schedule kicked off with a performance by the Worcestershire Youth Jazz Orchestra yesterday (Sunday July 1).

Blackwell Concert Band are next on July 8, and then there’s a British Legion ‘Poppy Picnic in the Park’ charity event on July 15 featuring the Band of the Mercian Regiment, a dog show, funfair, military vehicles and much more.

Stour Concert Band will then play the third 'through the decades' show on July 22, before Arrow Valley Brass Band closes out the month on July 29.

All the events are on Sundays at the Jubilee Bandstand in Sanders Park, on Kidderminster Road in Bromsgrove, from 2.30pm until 4.30pm, except for the Poppy Picnic which starts at 12 noon.

Throughout the summer the 'through the decades' performances are celebrating of 50 years of Sanders Park, culminating in a grand finale on September 16 at a large event for the Park’s fiftieth anniversary party.

The July events follow May and June’s busy schedule featuring bands and choirs from across the region.

Val Wilson, events officer for Bromsgrove District Council, said “We’re really looking forward to July’s events. Last month the choirs event in particular drew over 400 cars of visitors so we’re delighted to see so many people coming to Bromsgrove to enjoy themselves.”

Everyone is welcome and guests are invited to bring along chairs, tables and picnics.
