Communities in Bromsgrove which have had new housing schemes in their area, can bid for grants from an allocation of New Homes Bonus Funding.

Bromsgrove District Council has allocated £144,000 from its 2020/21 funding allocation for communities to bid for if they have been affected by housing growth.

Deputy Leader Cllr Geoff Denaro, whose portfolio covers Corporate Governance and Finance, said: “We understand that we are facing uncertain times at the moment and have extended the deadline for entries to reflect the difficulties in communities being able to get together.

“I hope this encourages communities to enter their projects and I wish you every success.”

Applicants must demonstrate how they would use the funds to address that impact and can submit entries from May 10th.

The Council’s checking service is being offered again so applicants can get their draft applications and ideas for projects given the once over by an expert eye.

These must be received by May 28th.

Completed applications can be emailed to NHBGrants@bromsgrove.gov.uk or posted to the Executive Director, Finance & Resources, Bromsgrove District Council, Parkside, Market Street, Bromsgrove B61 8DA.

They must be received by 5pm on Tuesday 30th June 2020. Applications received before or after these dates will not be considered.
