Park-goers can enjoy some safe light refreshment this Bank Holiday weekend as the Sanders Park Café opens as a take away on Saturday.

Over the last week James Stokes and his team have been fine-tuning arrangements to ensure that social distancing can be applied as they serve customers hot and cold drinks and light snacks.

Visitors to the Bromsgrove park can take-away their purchases and enjoy them as part of their outing.

Bromsgrove District Council Leader Karen May said: “We want people to continue to enjoy our parks while adhering to Government guidelines so this news is great for visitors and also for the café-owner who is an independent trader.

“The business will be operating with social distancing in mind but we need park-goers to mindful of the Government guidelines, especially not to congregate in large groups, and to take responsibility for themselves to ensure their trip to the park is a safe and enjoyable one.”

The café will be open from 10am to 4pm (subject to weather).

James said: “We have been in the café putting these safety measures in place and talking to passers-by who are excited to see we are opening again.

“I am looking forward to welcoming them back this Saturday.”
