Tactile Map and Braille Shopping Guide for Bromsgrove Town
Centre
We now have a Tactile Map Book and Shopping Guide for
Bromsgrove Town Centre.
The Shopping Guide has been prepared in Grade Two Braille and is
only suitable for those who read Braille.
The map book and Braille shopping guide is available free to
anyone who needs one on application to the Customer Service Centre,
School Drive, Bromsgrove. Contact them on
01527
881288 or send an email to
equalities@bromsgrove.gov.uk
with your contact details requesting a copy. We will keep your
details only for the purpose of sending out new copies of the map
book and guide when ready.
There are also copies to borrow on request from libraries in
Bromsgrove and Redditch and from the Council House or the Customer
Service Centres in Bromsgrove and Redditch.
The map book and Braille shopping guide is now being updated for
a new edition to be issued in Autumn. A new copy will be
automatically issued to all current holders of the map book free of
charge. New copies will also be sent to the libraries and old
copies, when returned, will be offered to any schools or colleges
that teach Braille for use as a learning tool.
The Braille shopping guide section cannot be guaranteed to be up
date at all times as there is a continuous changeover of shop
occupation in the High Street of Bromsgrove.
You can view a visual copy of the
Braille key to the map here.
You can view the
map layout
here and the
map layout with text
here.
The text to Braille key can be viewed here -
page 1 and
page 2. Please note that these two documents have been created
by scanning the Braille pages and cannot be read aloud by your
computer.
The
text version
of the content of the shopping guide can be viewed or read
aloud here. This is a Word document and is laid out matching the
pagination of the Braille version.
