Fair Processing Statement

The personal data that you provide will be processed by Bromsgrove District Council for the purpose of calculating your entitlement to Housing and/or Council Tax Benefit.  The data may be shared with Redditch Borough Council as part of our shared services arrangement but we will not pass your details on to anyone else unless it is to prevent or detect fraud as detailed in the Fraud Notice below.  You may be contacted from time to time so that we can be sure that the data we hold is correct and you are still entitled to or wish to be in receipt of Housing and/or Council Tax Benefit.

We will always meet our responsibilities under the Freedom of Information and Data Protection Acts.

Fraud Notice

This authority is under a duty to protect the public funds it administers, and to this end may use the information you provide when claiming Housing and/or Council Tax Benefit for the prevention and detection of Fraud.  It may also share this information with other bodies responsible for auditing or administering public funds for these purposes.  Any information that you provide when claiming Housing and/or Council Tax Benefit may be shared with other departments within Bromsgrove District Council or any law enforcing authority, subject to the provisions of Data Protection Legislation.  This may also include sharing your information with credit reference agencies such as Experian.
