Business Rates

The non-domestic rates, or business rates are collected by local councils and are the means by which businesses and others who occupy non-domestic property make a contribution to the costs of local services.

The rates collected are pooled by central government and redistributed to local councils according to the number of people living in the area.  This money, together with the revenue from council taxpayers and grants provided by the government is used to pay for the services provided by your local council and other local authorities in your area.

You can find out more about business rates on the website http://www.mybusinessrates.gov.uk/

Bromsgrove Council has provided information on your business rates, including a guide to your rates bill, information on ways to reduce your rates liability and what to do if you can't afford to pay on the Business Rates in Bromsgrove Page.

Bromsgrove Council have produced an Explanatory Notes for Non Domestic Rates (Business Rates) leaflet to assist rate payers within the district.
