Rain stops some play – but not all
Festive spirits weren’t dampened despite the
rain when BDC held its Christmas Light Switch-on event on
Saturday.
Although some of the street entertainment was
cancelled because of the rain over the weekend - including Titan
the robot - the lights switch-on still went ahead.
Chairman Chris Scurrell said: “We had a lot of
entertainment booked in for this festive switch-on, unfortunately
we couldn’t book the weather! However I was delighted with the
amount of people that turned up and had a good time despite the
inclement conditions, and here’s to a Merry Christmas.”
The Rubery Christmas Light Switch On will be
held on Saturday (Nov 28) from 3pm to 5.30pm and festive fun will
continue across the District in the run up to Christmas.
