Answering Pay on Foot questions

Bromsgrove District Council is answering residents’ frequently asked questions on Bromsgrove’s new improved Pay on Foot car parking system, in the run up to the target launch date of April 1.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the new system for the Recreation Road South - commonly known as ASDA - and Churchfields Multi Storey car parks, are being made available on the Council’s website as well as at the Customer Service Centre on School Drive.

The move is designed to give people the information they may want or need, especially to reduce any surprises once the new system is in place.

The leader of Bromsgrove District Council Cllr Roger Hollingworth said: “Along with the latest drop in some parking charges in January, this change to a better value customer-friendly system for people parking in Bromsgrove is another step in improving conditions for the town centre. Feedback from residents has shown they want us to lower parking charges and introduce Pay on Foot systems - well we’ve listened and done both of those things.

“These improvements complement other town centre regeneration work we are involved in with our partners, such as the new Health Centre behind Parkside School, the street market and redevelopment of the old Market Hall site and the excellent new public toilets and bus station.”

Headline questions amongst the 16 FAQs, which will be available on the Parking section of http://www.bromsgrove.gov.uk/ and on request at the Customer Service Centre, include “How will the new system work?”, “How do blue badge holders retain their additional hour’s parking?” and “Can I prepay for my parking?”
