Electronic Departure Board is Just the Ticket

An electronic departure board has been installed at the town’s bus station displaying useful departure information so that bus-users can now effectively plan their journeys.

This installation forms part of the town centre regeneration programme and compliments the four new bus shelters introduced last year.

Bromsgrove District Councillor Rita Dent said: “I am delighted to see the regeneration project is working and raising quality across the town centre and this is the latest development.

"Other developments to the area included the award winning refurbished toilet block and landscaping of the surrounding area. “

The board shows departures over the following twenty to thirty minutes at the bus station which boasts 30 to 35 departures every hour.

District Councillor Ted Tibby added: “There’s nothing worse than standing around, waiting for a bus and wondering when the next one will turn up.

“Now users of public transport can see at a glance when their next bus is.”

Funds from Worcestershire County Council, who are a partner of the Bromsgrove Regeneration Programme team, were secured and successful negotiations to purchase the system followed.
