Equipping Prospective MPs
Bromsgrove
District Council has invited anyone who wants to run for local MP
in the general election to come and receive advice on how to
apply.
As Returning Officer for the constituency,
Council Chief Executive Kevin Dicks has invited prospective
parliamentary candidates and their agents to attend a briefing
session in Bromsgrove’s Council Chamber. There all the necessary
information and paperwork to run for MP will be made available by
the Elections team.
Kevin Dicks said: “Running for Parliament is
no simple matter so I’m delighted that our experienced Elections
team can help make the process easier for people who have an
interest in pursuing this.
“Officers from our team that run the Elections
service for Redditch Borough and Bromsgrove District Councils will
be on hand to answer any questions that prospective parliamentary
candidates may have.”
Anyone can come to this briefing session and
pick up the forms and information they will need if they intend to
be a candidate for Bromsgrove in the coming general election.
These include nomination packs containing all
the documents that must be filled out in order to stand for MP, and
guidance notes with relevant info they will need as a
candidate.
The briefing session, which is for the 2010
parliamentary election only, starts at 6pm on Thursday 11th March
2010 in the Council Chamber, The Council House, Burcot Lane,
Bromsgrove B60 1AA.
