Equipping Prospective MPs

elections Bromsgrove District Council has invited anyone who wants to run for local MP in the general election to come and receive advice on how to apply.

As Returning Officer for the constituency, Council Chief Executive Kevin Dicks has invited prospective parliamentary candidates and their agents to attend a briefing session in Bromsgrove’s Council Chamber. There all the necessary information and paperwork to run for MP will be made available by the Elections team.

Kevin Dicks said: “Running for Parliament is no simple matter so I’m delighted that our experienced Elections team can help make the process easier for people who have an interest in pursuing this.

“Officers from our team that run the Elections service for Redditch Borough and Bromsgrove District Councils will be on hand to answer any questions that prospective parliamentary candidates may have.”

Anyone can come to this briefing session and pick up the forms and information they will need if they intend to be a candidate for Bromsgrove in the coming general election.

These include nomination packs containing all the documents that must be filled out in order to stand for MP, and guidance notes with relevant info they will need as a candidate.

The briefing session, which is for the 2010 parliamentary election only, starts at 6pm on Thursday 11th March 2010 in the Council Chamber, The Council House, Burcot Lane, Bromsgrove B60 1AA.
