Recycling Vision

doctors waiting roomBromsgrove District Council’s new scheme to help residents recycle more has been brought to life on the big screen.

The changes to the waste and recycling collection service will take place from April 6 and will see more materials being recycled.

So as many people as possible can find out about the scheme, a special advert (you can watch the video below) has been commissioned and will be played every 15 minutes on TV screens in GP surgeries across the District until the end of May.

Council Leader Roger Hollingworth said: “These changes will see residents being able to recycle more materials and we want as many people as possible to be in the know about this.

“The TV screens in GP waiting rooms seemed an ideal and cost-effective way to reach out to those people who may not have seen the information in the newspaper, leaflets or our website.”

The new easy to use system will see all recyclables placed loose inside the existing green bin.

From April 6 recycling will be collected from green bins, previously used for garden waste. From 1 March garden waste will be collected from a brown bin.

Residents wanting to take part in the garden waste chargeable scheme can apply for a brown bin by calling 01527 881711. Household waste will continue to be put in the grey bins. Click on www.bromsgrove.gov.uk for details.
