Den-building comes to Street Theatre for national
Playday
Kids of
all ages will be able to build their own place as den-building
comes to Street Theatre days in Bromsgrove district.
With the first Street Theatre date on August 4
coinciding with national Playday, which is themed “your place” for
2010, lots of everyday items will be on hand for children do what
they do best: build dens!
And also on the Playday theme of “your place”,
information leaflets showing the locations of and equipment in the
many play areas throughout the district will be available from
Bromsgrove District Council officers, so residents will at a glance
be able to see what facilities are available in their area.
Whether alone or in groups, with careful
painstaking precision or all-out hell-for-leather, children will be
able to take part in their own way to make their place in the
den-building area.
Local artists will also be on hand to help
with any creative advice.
Bromsgrove District Council parks and
recreation officer Jackie Boreham said: “I’m sure most people will
remember building dens as children, and we are really looking
forward to some den-building at the Street Theatre as part of the
‘our place’ Playday theme.
“We want parents to think about ‘our place’
too, so we will have a stand at Street Theatre events to tell
people about the many great play facilities we have in our
district. Not everyone is aware that there are places suitable for
older children, younger children, riskier play areas – the list
goes on, and we want people to know what might be on their own
doorsteps. I hope people will stop by and have a chat or grab a
leaflet.”
