Achieving Disability Equality in the Bromsgrove District

In August 2007, Bromsgrove District Council produced its first Easy Read Version of the Disability Equality SchemeAchieving Disability Equality in the Bromsgrove District, and Achieving Disability Equality in the Bromsgrove District Large Print which were intended to build on the commitments made in the Scheme and further develop the ideas that will move us towards achieving equality for disabled people within the Bromsgrove District. This is a new initiative for Bromsgrove and we want to thank all the people who participated in the research without whom this comprehensive report would not have been produced.

The report has been compiled from written submissions and interviews with the disabled community and their support networks in the Bromsgrove District. This has been supplemented by wider research carried out by our Disability Equality Project Worker, Rhyan Berrigan over the summer and autumn of 2007.

We are constantly listening to feedback from disabled people and have set up a Disabled Users Group to monitor the work of Bromsgrove District Council .

If you would like a copy of the report sent to you by post, or would like a copy of the Scheme in another language, in large print, Braille, or on audio tape or on audio CD please contact the Customer Service Centre on 01527 881288, or send us an email to equalities@bromsgrove.gov.uk
