The Equality and Diversity Forum

The Equality and Diversity Forum was set up in July 2005 and has held regular meetings since then. The Forum has gone from strength to strength not only through its membership, but also through what it has been able to achieve for the residents of Bromsgrove. The Diversity and Equality Forum was originally established so that residents of the District could have a voice in Council decisions about policies and services which affect them. Some of the successes of the Forum have been the supporting of the Hate Crime initiative, the development of the Disabled Users Group and the consultation on the Inclusive Equalities Scheme of 2006. As the relationship between Bromsgrove District Council and the Forum has developed, the Forum have been able to have their say on issues such as future budget planning, Community Transport and Town Centre Regeneration. The Forum is continuing to recruit members from the district of Bromsgrove who have an interest in the areas of Equality and Diversity so this successful partnership can continue.

Anyone can attend the meetings even if you have not been to a previous meetings. The meetings are held on Thursday evenings and start at 6.15 pm in the Committee Room at the Council House, light refreshments are available in the Conference Room from 5.30 pm onwards. The programme of meetings for the rest of 2010 is 12th August, 23rd September (meeting for Community Bids only), 7th October and 9th December.
