Voluntary and Community Sector
Over the past few years, Bromsgrove District Council has worked
hard to build strong links with the Voluntary and Community Sector
(
VCS
),
particular through the Bromsgrove and Redditch Network (BARN).
Bromsgrove and Redditch Network
Bromsgrove and Redditch Network (
BARN
) is a network of
voluntary and community organisations and statutory agencies that
provide a service to individuals or organisations in the local
authority districts of Bromsgrove and
Redditch.
BARN
is part of the
Bromsgrove
Partnership.
Compact
A Compact is a joint
agreement between a council and the local voluntary and community
sector to build trust and improve working relationships for the
benefits of both parties. It acknowledges the importance of
partnership working to make life better for everyone.
The public sector and the
VCS
have distinct but
complimentary roles and we believe that great value can be added to
our communities through working together.
People who work within the
VCS
have a unique
contribution to make: they are activists, they work extremely
hard, they really know the area and the people they are working
with. Therefore, it is vital that we tap into and support
this resource.
