Communications
We want to keep our customers informed about the Council and our
services.
Our communications team is responsible for this, and for letting
you know how we spend the Council Tax on a range of services which
touch your lives every day.
How we communicate to you is set out in our Communications
Strategy, A Stronger Voice for Bromsgrove and an ongoing Action
Plan means we can look ahead to the key decisions which we want to
let you know about.
The Strategy is supported by a Media
Protocol
(56.94 KB) which sets out the relationships between
the media, Councillors and officers.
Media Liaison
Press releases are issued by the Media and
Communications Officer who also seeks comments for stories which
the media have been alerted to by other sources.
Together Bromsgrove
Like Councils across the country we issue a magazine to
residents – Together Bromsgrove comes
out three times a year delivered to every household in the
Bromsgrove District through local newspapers and Royal Mail.
This is a cost-effective way of keeping our residents informed
and we are always looking at ways to fund each issues, for example
through advertising revenue.
Council Tax
Leaflet
Each year we team up with partners including the County Council
and Fire Service to produce a joined up Council Tax
leaflet (
1.3 MB) which comes to
you with your annual council tax bill. This helps you understand
how your money is spent. The District Council is responsible for
collecting all of the council tax on behalf of its partners but
keeps just 13%.
There are many more leaflets, posters and publications which we
use to keep you informed and the Communications Team is also
responsible for keeping Members and staff up to date with Council
decisions. We also engage with our residents through Partners and
Communities Together (PACT) meetings, a Customers’ Panel and a
varied range of consultation surveys and other exercises.
