Bromsgrove District Council Electoral
Arrangements Review
At the request of the Council and it's members, Bromsgrove
District Council is undergoing a review with regards to electoral
arrangements. The initial stage of this review will look
at the Council size and the proposed intention of reducing the
number of Councillors from 39 to 31.
The review is currently at the Council size consultation stage
where an independent body, The Local Government Boundary Commission
for England, is seeking your views. To find out more
information about this review and how to submit a response, please
read the News Release from 27 March
2012
. This period of Council size consultation is taking
place from the 27 March to 8 April 2012.

The New Parliamentary Constituency Boundaries Review
Latest News:
The secondary consultation period commences noon 6 March
2012 and ends at noon 3 April 2012.
What is The Review For?
- To reduce the number of constituencies from 650 to 600 (502 in
England)
- To be conducted on a European Region level – the West Midlands
region has 59 constituencies to be reduced to 54
- The new constituency size is to be between 72,810 and 80,473
using 1 December 2010 published electorate figures
- To use district/borough council wards (as at 6 May 2010) as
building blocks

What If I Want To Support or Object To The Proposal?
The first consultation period on the initial
proposal has. All submissions to this proposal are available
to view on
Boundary Commission Review
website. During the secondary consultation
period individuals and organisations have an opportunity to submit
comments on the representations that have been made by
others. All representations can only be viewed and on the
Boundary Commission Review website.
What Happens Next?
The Boundary Commission has to complete and
report to Parliament by 1 October 2013
