Can I get previously unauthorised building work regularised?

It is now possible for unauthorised building work, which was commenced after October 1985 to be regularised - that is a retrospective application can be made.

The council has to see that the building work complies with the regulations.

If the work does not comply or contraventions on site are too onerous, the regularisation application may not be accepted, or you may be asked to alter or remove it

Please contact the officer covering your area to discuss this situation.
