Planning Officer Positions (Development Control)

 

Why are we recruiting?  The Development Control Team at Bromsgrove District Council is seeking Planning Professionals on a temporary basis to tackle current high volumes of submitted planning applications.  It is anticipated the positions will initially be for a six month period, with a possible extension.

What do we want?  Fully MRTPI chartered candidates with relevant planning experience as a Development Control Case Officer.  An individual committed to enhancing the quality of the environment of this historic District of North Worcestershire with a sound knowledge of current planning legislation and guidance, excellent communication and ICT skills, together with the ability to focus on the varied needs of our planning customers.

What do we want you to do?  Work within the Development Control team, dealing with a broad caseload of urban, rural and heritage applications and appeals within an environment of intense Green Belt pressure. 

Why should you join us?  To improve and build upon your planning experience within a supportive and progressive unit, whilst being part of an exciting period of transition and challenge for our busy department.

Bromsgrove District Plan  Submission

On Wednesday 12th March 2014, Bromsgrove District Council (BDP), as the Local Planning Authority, submitted the Bromsgrove District Plan to the Secretary of State for independent examination. More details can be found on the Examination Webpages.

The Bromsgrove District Plan Submission document outlines the strategic planning policy framework for guiding development in the District up to 2030. It comprises a long-term vision and strategic objectives, a development strategy, key policies, strategic site allocations and a monitoring and implementation statement.
