Previous Consultations

The Draft Core Strategy 2 was the most recent document produced by the District Council for consultation on the next stage of preparing Bromsgrove's Core Strategy as part of the Local Development Framework. The document can be viewed below and was built predominantly on the earlier Issue and Options consultation stages that took place in the summers of 2005 and 2007 and consultation on the first Draft Core Strategy which took place at the end of October 2008. There was also a consultation regarding Redditch Growth from January to March 2010.

Draft Core Strategy 2

The central document in the Local Development Framework (LDF)is the Core Strategy. We have produced this Draft Core Strategy 2 which presents the spatial visions and objectives for the future growth and development of the District until 2026. It includes the core policies intent on achieving the vision and presents the Councils’ method for managing change and development in Bromsgrove. A public consultation period is now open and will run from 21st January 2011 until 15thApril 2011, allowing anyone who wishes, to get involved with the District’s planning process. To view the Draft Core Strategy 2 in full, the associated Sustainability Appraisal and other supporting documents please click on the links below:

How can I get involved?

The preparation of the Draft Core Strategy 2 has been progressing for some time and you may already have been involved through earlier consultation processes.  There are still opportunities for you to be involved.  The Draft Core Strategy 2 builds on work done in developing Bromsgrove’s planning strategy over several years.  This includes the previous Draft Core Strategy document in October 2008, the Issues and Options consultations in the summers of 2005 and 2007, as well as a number of studies that will form the evidence base to the LDF.

If you are passionate about where you live, there are hundreds of reasons to get involved in planning for the District’s future.  We want you to participate in the growth of your District and have an active contribution to the provision of homes, jobs and leisure facilities.  We have produced the Draft Core Strategy 2 to guide the way the District develops and would like your feedback on what you think.

With your support, we intend to make sure the right number and types of homes are built in the right places, whether it is affordable first time homes for young couples and families, the right sort of homes for elderly residents, or other forms of housing that meets the needs of the people of Bromsgrove.  You can also assist us in creating the right kind of shopping, leisure and community facilities for the local people, so there is no need to travel to Birmingham or elsewhere to find what you need.  And for businesses it means creating the best possible office and industrial spaces, so they can grow and local people can find more, better paid jobs.

The Draft Core Strategy 2 was published on Friday 21st January 2011 and the consultation period will run until Friday 15th April 2011. (NOW CLOSED)

This is your opportunity to continually be involved in the evolution of the Core Strategy. We would like your views on any of the Councils proposed core policies, the content and scope of the document. Furthermore, if you wish, you can still put forward your ideas for new options.

We will need to consider all of your comments before a final published Core Strategy can be issued therefore if you have any comments they must be received by the District Council by 5pm on Friday 15th April 2011.

You can send us your comments on what you think of this document using the response forms. You can fill in the online response form or a Microsoft WordWord logo or PDF PDF Acrobat File version of the response form can be downloaded which you can complete electronically and return via email, post, or fax using the details below:

The submitted document will be made available for a statutory consultation period during which formal representations can be made. All details will be placed on this page at the time of submission.

The views and opinions of local people, organisations and businesses are vital to this consultation process, so please get involved!
