The Planning portal contains a wide variety of information including an interactive house/ terrace and details of frequently undertaken projects.

 
 

Speak to a member of the Development Control team

Providing your proposals are small scale domestic works, and you are the applicant, you may visit the Householder Planning Service and discuss your proposals with a member of the planning team free of charge. This service provides 10 -15 minutes with an officer to discuss your proposals (you must have a scheme to consider and should be prepared to wait)*.

We do not provide planning advice via the telephone.

Note: If your enquiry relates to the potential purchase of property you are advised to seek legal advice.We only provide informal advice, which is subject to timescales and costs, as detailed below. Should you wish to obtain a site history you should contact planninghistories@bromsgrove.gov.uk

Do I need Planning Permission? .... Permitted Development (PD) Enquiries*.

Are my proposals likely to gain planning permission?...Pre-Application Enquiries*.

*Any advice and guidance given is provided in the 'spirit of helpfulness' and is neither binding on the Council nor the Officer concerned. If you wish to obtain formal advice on your proposals you are advised to apply for a Certificate of Lawfulness by completing the appropriate application form and submitting this together with the appropriate fee.

Formal written advice

If you require a legally binding determination that an existing or proposed scheme of development in acceptable you are invited to apply for a Certificate of Lawfulness.

Householder Planning Service

The service operates from the Customer Service Centre (adjacent to The Dolphin Centre) School Drive, Bromsgrove on Tuesday 10.00am–1.00pm and Thursday 1.00pm– 4.45pm.

The service is a free drop-in facility providing informal planning advice to residents undertaking small scale development.

This facility is not available for:

 Subdivision of properties to flats
 Replacement dwellings
 Changes of Use     

Please note:The service is for Planning advice only. If your enquiry relates to a Building Control matter we are unable to assist you.
