Planning Applications-Residential
Please note our practice is not
to provide advice via the telephone. Details of how to obtain
advice are contained on the advice and guidance page of this site.
The primary focus of our Development Control officers is to deal
with their caseload of applications in accordance with statutory
time frames. Any queries will be acknowledged and dealt with in
accordance with our customer service standards.
Where you appoint an agent to act on your behalf communications,
including the decision notice, will be sent to you via your
agent.
Please note: Planning permission refers only to
that required under the Town and Country Planning Acts and does not
include any consents or approval under any other enactment, byelaw,
order or regulation. Any development may therefore require separate
Building Regulations consent.
How to apply
We are partnered with
The Planning Portal to enable the submission of planning
applications and associated drawings online. We strongly encourage
you to use the facility, which is proven to be the most
effective and efficient way to ensure we receive your application
in a timely manner.
However, we recognise that some applicants feel reluctant to use
online facilities or are unsure of exactly how to carry out the
process. Therefore, you will find Applying online - video tutorials
on the Planning Portal website to assist you with this process.
If you do not have internet access you may visit to our
Customer Service Centre, adjacent to the Dolphin Centre, School
Drive, Bromsgrove, B60 1AY where self service computers linked to
the Planning Portal are available for your use.
In circumstances where you know what type of application(s)
is/are required and feel that a manual submission is the only
option please refer to the
Planning Portal form printing page
Alternatively please refer to details of application types for more guidance.
Please note: any associated plans submitted
electronically need to be .pdf files with the scale 'embedded'
in the document. Photographs should be either .pdf or .tiff files.
The use of tilde character (~) must be avoided in naming any
documents.
Costs
Application fee's are set by central government not the local
planning authority. When submitting an application via The Planning
Portal you will be informed of the correct fee at the time of
submission. However, should you wish to establish the necessary
fee, without submitting an application, you can use The Planning
Portal's fee calculator tool.
Agents
Applicants may choose, at their own expense, to appoint
planning professionals as agents to act on their behalf. In
order to maintain the impartiality of the planning process we
do not recommend or supply details of planning
agents.
