Step Up Private Tenancy Scheme
Bromsgrove District Council's Step Up Private Tenancy Scheme is
set up to help families to access the private rented sector.
This is done by assisting them to secure suitable properties and
helping them with the money that is required up front. In
addition, the scheme is able to offer the following package to
private landlords interested in the scheme:
- Sourcing a suitable tenant for your property
- Free inspection and survey of property
- Possible access to local authority grant assistance for works
required.
- Full Rent in Advance payable to landlord
- Deposit Guarantee Bond, paid in place of traditional
deposit. Offers landlord the assurance that should there be
any damage to the property or rent arrears that the landlord can
claim to the Council up to 1 months rent (N.B Deposit Guarantee
Bond is NOT subject to new Deposit Protection Legislation)
- Support in dealing with Housing Benefit applications
- Tenancy Agreement Forms
- Free inventory completed with digital pictures as backup.
- Settling in support with setting up service accounts and
budgeting
- Ongoing support to tenant throughout tenancy to ensure that
they are able to sustain.
- Ongoing support and assistance to landlord
